Obituary of Jack Donald Edwards

JACK DONALD EDWARDS - 8-22-1936 through 7-27-2012 Edwards, Jack Donald Sr., 75, of Gulfport FL passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 while being surrounded by family. He was born on August 22, 1936 and raised in Cumberland, MD. He has been a resident of Gulfport since 1963 and loved the area. As an active resident, he dedicated much of his time to public and community service over the years. He owned several businesses in and around Gulfport including gas service stations, produce stands, and a shoe store. He was an entrepreneur and businessman/salesman most of his career. Jack touched many people with sincere kindness, generosity, and humor. Jack was predeceased by his father, Louis Matthew Edwards and mother Mary Marie Mort, brothers James Edward of Cumberland, MD, Robert Edwards of unknown, and William Edwards of Baltimore, MD. Jack is survived by his wife Karen Simek; brothers Richard "Bo" Edwards of Fort Ashby, WV and Michael Edwards of Cumberland, MD; sons Brian Edwards and Jack Edwards Jr.; daughter Jackie (Edwards) Garriott of St Petersburg; step children he raised Lori (Callander) Jaundoo of Houston, TX and Kevin Callander of Anchorage, AK; and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
