Obituary of George Awadnarain Moonasar

George Awadnarain Moonasar b. April 17th, 1941 - d. June 27th, 2012 George A. Moonasar passed away on June 27th, 2012 at the age of 71 at his home in Pinellas Park, Florida. Born April 17th, 1941 in Skeldon, Berbice, Guyana to father, Phulesar and mother Sukrajie. After losing both of their parents at a very young age, George and his siblings Patrick, Inez, Indra, and Nalini, worked hard to survive and take care of each other. George persevered to become among other things a high school teacher, an award-winning playwright, and a welfare officer for Bookers Sugar Estates Ltd. George had a passion for literature, writing, music and cinema. He was an avid participant and fan of cricket. He could also be found, in his spare time using his social skills and gift of communication by helping his community as a leader and member of many community, public, and government organizations during his lifetime. He is survived by his three children, Patrick David, Daniel George, and Kimberly Ann Moonasar, as well as his youngest sister Nalini Moonasar. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his eldest brother Patrick, and elder sisters, Inez and Indra. George's legacy will continue to survive in the form of his contributions to the lives of his numerous students, friends, and family throughout the world. He looked with great personal happiness and pride upon the many lives that he helped shape and enrich as a mentor, teacher, friend, and confidante. Funeral services for George Awadnarain Moonasar will be held on Thursday July 5th 2012 at "A Life Tribute Funeral Home" 716 Seminole Blvd. Largo Fl, 33770 (phone: 727-559-7793). Private family visitation hours will be from 4PM- 5PM ET proceeded by an open visitation from 5PM-7PM ET. The funeral service will be from 7PM- 8PM ET. A private cremation will be held for family.
