Obituary of Mary Lovaglio

Mary Lovaglio, 71, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2024, at her home in Largo, Fla. She was born on December 16, 1952, in Brooklyn, NY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Evelyn Bolger, and siblings Tommy and Timmy Bolger.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Nickolas; her son John Thomas (Tonya) of Largo, Fla.; her grandchildren Hudson and Lyla; her sister Colleen Bolger (Jane Gibson) of Fort Myers, Fla; and Timmy’s wife, Erika Bolger of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. Mary came from a large family and is also survived by many close cousins, some of whom were like sisters to her, as well as nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Mary met Nick, the love of her life, while living in Richmond Hill, NY. The two were married and set about the business of building a beautiful life together, beginning with the birth of their son, John Thomas.

The family moved to Cape May, NJ, and enjoyed nearly two decades living in the quaint, small town. Mary particularly enjoyed being within walking distance of her parents and sister. She and her family delighted in many beautiful summers on the beach and winters spent avoiding the icy chill by hosting friends and family in their home, playing shuffleboard at the VFW and, when all else failed, vacationing in Florida for months at a time. Mary’s love of the Sunshine State led her and Nick to eventually move there in 2016.

Mary’s generous spirit and infectious smile led to many lifelong friendships that she treasured. Her selfless nature, huge heart and love for others will be fondly remembered. Nothing was more important to Mary than her family and friends. She was truly loved and will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held in New York at a later date. The family requests that donations be made in Mary’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
