Obituary of John Alec Esty

John passed away Tuesday, September 12 of lung and stomach cancer. John was born September 10, 1958, at Mercy Hospital in Portland Maine to Donald Esty Senior and Sheilia Gallagar the third of seven children. He grew up in Westbrook Maine, where he loved to play sports and raise “hell”. John attended Westbrook High School and married Cynthia Goulat in 1979, they have three sons. He moved from Maine to Florida in the year 2003.

John worked many years at Falcon Shoe in Lewiston Maine he was a cook and a corporate trainer teaching many others across the country. His biggest career passion that he took the most pride in was running his John Junk buying and selling business. Both of his parents predeceased John, and he is survived by his three sons; Justin, John Jr., and Matthew. As well as his four grandchildren Makayla, Logan, Erin, and Elijah alongside his four brothers; Donald, Michael, Joseph, and Christopher. As well, he had with him his two sisters whose names Cathleen and Missy with the many nieces and nephews he's gained over the years.

John will be remembered for his love of wheeling and dealing with his gift for gabbing/bullshitting with everyone around him. He loved fishing, spending time on his boat and of course, buying a lot of “junk”. The New York Giants and all the Tampa Teams he loved watching and having dinner alongside his brother Joey every night. We all love and will forever miss him, we thank you to Aspire At The Harbor for keeping him comfortable till the end.

A family gathering to spread his ashes at his childhood home will be determined at a later date.
