Obituary of Suzanne Marie Olson

Suzanne Marie Olson, beloved aunt, sister, daughter, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, September 2, 2023. She was born in Long Beach, California on November 24, 1953, the daughter of Patricia O’Gorman (dec.) and John Olson (dec.). She was the middle sister of Margo Winifred Olson (dec.) and Janet Louise Olson Rosenberg, married to Ira Edward Rosenberg. She is remembered fondly by her sister Janet, her father’s wife Janet Olson, her nieces Jessica Scott Kumar, married to Akash Kumar, and Meredith Rosenberg McRae, married to Kevin Frederick McRae, and her great-nieces and nephew Sarah, Kelly, and Scott McRae. Suzanne was a dear member of every community she lived in and will be missed by her chosen family across the country.

Suzanne left California at a young age and lived a life of adventure that ranged from Connecticut to Texas to Florida, with many detours along the way. She attended the University of Texas, Austin, and made it a point to convert her sister and niece Jessica into Dallas Cowboys fans. She was married to Christian Heller (dec.) in 1985. Over the years, Suzanne wore many hats, but she loved helping people along their life’s journey and transformed that into a successful career in real estate in Florida. Later in life, she tirelessly and compassionately cared for her mother during Patricia’s last years.

Though she is no longer with us, Suzanne’s zest for life has touched many and her openness to the wide world of new experiences will continue to inspire all those who knew her.

Friends and family will gather for a celebration of life at Gulfport Senior Center, 5501 27th Ave. S., Gulfport, Florida 33707, on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 6-7 PM. Bring a small dessert or appetizer to share if you wish.
