Obituary of Stephanie Nicole Stathis

Stephanie Nicole Stathis passed away August 14, 2023. Stephanie was living in St. Petersburg, Florida with her fiancé and loving partner in life Mike Thiede.

Stephanie was born May 29, 1986 in Westminster, Colorado to Jolene Rose and David Alan Stathis. Stephanie lived in the Denver metro area until 2022. She attended Fairview and North Star Elementary Schools, Huron Middle School, and Northglenn High School. While in high school, Stephanie excelled in the sport of powerlifting, winning the State Championship multiple years.

Stephanie worked in the service industry. She brought joy to thousands of Denver area sports fans, as she was a favorite bar tender and server at Coors Field and Blue Sky at the Pepsi Center.

Stephanie and Mike had an amazing love story. A close friendship of over sixteen years transitioned into more when Stephanie decided to “try something” and gave Mike a sweet kiss. The pair moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 2022 where they planned to get married and hoped to start a family of their own.

Stephanie had a unique sense of humor and loved to share birth stories, including her own. She was adventurous, always excited to try new things, whether boarding down sand dunes on a family trip or snorkeling and hunting for scallops in the Gulf of Mexico. She enjoyed hiking, camping, and snowboarding, and had recently rediscovered a love of fishing. She is remembered for being stubborn, independent, and very loving. She often said she was a “damn delight”, and she was right. Stephanie was creative; enjoying crafting, drawing, writing and coloring. She used her creative side to share her love with others, leaving artistic and thoughtful notes around for her loved ones. She loved her family and friends. She had a servant’s heart, supporting anyone who needed it. Stephanie was an animal person. She loved her dogs, Copper, Aspen, and Bentley.

Stephanie is survived by her loving fiancé, Michael Thiede; her mother, Jolene; her father, David and his wife Pam; her brother Dan and his wife Trista along with her nieces Kilee, Melanie, and Avery; her brother Thomas; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Stephanie is preceded in death by her grandparents, Dewayne and Frances Howard, and George and Allene Crichton.

Stephanie will be laid to rest in Colorado. You will be truly missed, Stephanie, you damn delight.
