I’ve known Roman for easily 15 years, one of our most colorful neighbors! I will miss our frequent chats on the sidewalk outside our homes and running into him at the local stores. We supported each other through our cancers this past year - sharing our frustrations, our fears, our victories, our failures. He was a passionate and generous neighbor, always good for a laugh, a story, an exchange of information and ideas. In recent years it has been such a joy to watch him bond with the next door neighbor children in such paternal fashion, whom he has doted on since their birth. It brought him such youthful energy and purpose. The neighborhood will not be the same without him. He walked the neighborhood sidewalk frequently each day and always had eyes out for the neighborhood and his neighbors. I always felt safer knowing he was around. Such spunk, that one! He will be missed. Definitely a lot less colorful without him.
