Obituary of Agustin Werner Menchaca III
Agustin “Augie” Menchaca III passed away, Sunday, August 1, 2021 at his home in Clearwater, Florida. He is survived by his beloved wife Jerica T. Hunter; parents, Agustin, Jr and Sheryl Menchaca; grandmother, Margaret Menchaca; in-laws, Jacqueline Y. Terrell, Donovan G. Hunter, Sr.; and brother-inlaw, Donovan G. Hunter, Jr.
After spending his formative years in Gibsonton and Riverview, Florida, Augie moved to Clearwater. As a teen, he began working at Publix and then as a life guard, swim instructor and teen activities director for the City of Clearwater. Over the years, earned his certificate in Water Reclamation and continued working with at risk youth. Augie always had an interest in business, so he started A. M. Lawn Service and just recently Mr. Augie's Hot Dogs.
Augie was a great friend to many where he strived to be honest, positive and humorous, too. He was an only child raised in a large family where his aunts were like mothers and his cousins like siblings. Those cherishing his memory are aunts, Gloria Pettitt, Mary King, Phyllis Mabry and uncle Nick Menchaca; cousins, Kimberly Badia, Jasen Menchaca Badia, Angela Ortiz, David King, Joshua Richison, Nicholas Menchaca, Sara Mabry, Mindy Menchaca and Dean Menchaca. Augie considered his cousins' children his nieces and nephews, and he loved them all.
Augie faced serious medical challenges the last five years, but the happiest day of his life was when he married his beloved Jerica on November 9th 2019. And if he were with us now, he would assure us he had a good life and great plans for the future, but he just ran out of time.
God speed Augie
