Obituary of Rebecca Williams

It is with a heavy heart we share with you, our mother; Rebecca (Beckie) Williams, 79, of St Petersburg, Florida, passed away quietly while resting at her home on April 3, 2021.

She was born on 07/25/41, to parents Gladys and Bill Cox, in Lebanon, IN. In 1958 she graduated from North Salem High School and married Hobert Gibson. The young couple traveled to Florida and returned to Indiana to start their family. Knowing their love for Florida, in 1969, they permanently moved to Florida where they raised their 3 daughters: Fonda Fay, Denise Kay, and Yolanda Rae. In the Lakeland area, she managed their successful delivery and logistics business while raising their family.

In 2001, she married her second husband, Don Williams. They spent their retirement years travelling in their RV enjoying many destinations while crossing the United States visiting friends and family.

Beckie is survived by her 3 daughters; Fonda, Denise, and Yolanda, 7 grandchildren; Shelbie, Hunter, Nicolas, Noel, Chris, Gabriel, and Jacob; 3 Sisters; Billie Johnson, Linda Patterson, and Mickie Bowersock. Beckie is also survived by Don’s 4 daughters: Mandy, Karen, Teresa and Natalie. Beckie loved her grandchildren and family.

She was preceded in death by her Mother Gladys, Father Bill, sister Dorothy Jean and Don, husband.

She was a road warrior, she loved road trips, travelling to new destinations, and she enjoyed listening to live music and dancing. Beckie was the center magnet for the family and the reason to gather in love.

A Celebration of Life in Remembrance of Beckie is scheduled for 4/17/21, 2:00pm at Central Christian Church located at 6161 22nd Ave N, St Petersburg, FL 33710. A reception will follow at the same location.
